Life
By Jean Roy
Instead of teaching our kids to love one another for who they are
We encourage them to upload fights to sites like worldstar
we’ve got little girls out here unsure from wrong or right
because the only attention they know how to get are from half naked pics, that get lots of likes.
see I’m not one to judge, but this generation is truly sad
we have broken homes, and drug filled lives, kids growing up without their dads.
we think that partying is for the strong and crying is for the weak
or how your appearance and who you know is status, and your mission is to compete
we live in lies, pretending that the smile on our faces is the truth
but you know better than I do, no one gives a damn or has a clue.
Notice how I did not say you, or them, I said we
because I too partake in this tragedy
too many of us want love, and will do anything to have it
we want acceptance and maturity but don’t know how to ask for it.
we are far too lost in our own minds, to ever grasp the thought
that there’s more to life than sex, drugs and material wants
there are too many people out here, losing themselves to pain
we’ve got abandoned children and teens cutting their veins
too many people starving not out of hunger
an influx in teen pregnancies, and their ages only getting younger
Too many people consumed by the amount of money someone has or the way they dress
being mistreated and hurt because their partner has the same sex
we complain on our statuses, and blogs that life is a game we just cant win
instead of being the difference in the world, we would like to wake up in.
This video makes me question my sexuality and makes me a pedophile because he’s only 15.
I can’t with my life.
