Wounds As Words

I write my wounds down as words
and give life to the pain I have birthed.
Idioms and nostalgic language leave me with a curse
as my teary eyed vocabulary intermixes with the hurt
that keeps me emotionally disturbed,
while still residing in each and every verse
that has anything to do with losing her.
